Jason
is a Baltimore native. Born and raised in Dundalk. At a very young age
he progressed in art. Jason never went anywhere without paper and a
pencil. The main influence for his art style has always been horror
films. When kids in elementary school were drawing cartoons Jason was
busy drawing Freddy Krueger. He always excelled in art classes,
elementary through middle school. In High School he was excepted into
Patapsco High School Center for the Arts. This is where he learned a
broader spectrum of art. At this point in his life he felt constricted
not being able to express himself through his own style. Feeling
conflicted he strayed away from the art world. As time passed, one day
Jason was painting with his children and realized that art was what he
was meant to do. After several months of freelance painting and drawing,
Jason wanted to put his talent to use. He applied at Absolute Tattoo
and has been there ever since. Tattooing came easy to him with the
expertise and influence of Sean, the owner of Absolute Tattoo. Also, he
is influenced by well-known tattoo artists Paul Booth and Bob Terrell.
Jason’s
art work can be best described as elegant yet grim. Although he loves
horror, his other passions are fantasy, Japanese art and science
fiction. He specializes in black and grayscale, but also has a vast
knowledge in color. Most of Jason’s clients come to him for custom work
and his ability to help you pinpoint exactly what you want. Also, he has
a great eye for detail.
Outside
of of work, Jason is a laid back family man. He obsesses over movies,
art, and video games. You will usually find him playing Xbox with his
son or trying to scare his daughter. Some days you will find him just
hanging out on the couch with his family, watching the latest movie out
on dvd. Jason is very close with his family, just ask his dad, who he
recently tattooed a skull and cross bones on. Which was very ironic
considering his father is the man who taught Jason to draw a skull and
cross bones.
